In lungs, baby worms are coughed up and swallowed. + large, and rounder than most worm eggs. Often will survive until they are ingested by another host. + roundworms spread more readily in pregnant animals. Pyrantel pamoate or other dewormer is recommended for all young animals. + attached to intestinal lining & sucks blood. Migrate to various organ systems ending in the lungs to be coughed up and ingested. Narrow at one end, thicker at other end. May pass as segments or one long worm. Resemble roundworm egg but are much smaller. Understanding external parasites: parasite any organism that lives on or in an organism of another species from the body of which it obtains nutriment without contributing to the wellbeing of the organism. Live within the body of the host animal.
