Document Summary

Makes it hard to enjoy the program. Cost is different than product placement or commercial space: premium cable. There aren"t any ads within the program: culture sponsored by corporations, concerts, book tours, conventions, etc. all have sponsors, pbs. Originally made to provide programs that weren"t on commercially driven channels. Lately, this has been eaten away and the diversity is gone. Now direct commercials on pbs: sports, ads behind home plate during baseball games. Suddenly there"s an invasion of advertisements during sports events: everything is commercialized. If companies bought parts of the campus, the university could not talk bad about the company, like about their factories in third world countries: floors, advertisements printed on the floor, like underwear ads and cereal ads. On beaches you can manipulate the sand to show an ad: advertising has colonized and invaded public space, food, on food packaging, space. Idea for a billboard in space that people could see.
