Satoshi kon"s anime masterpiece, millennium actress effectively portrayed actress chioko fujiwara"s life through a play within a play story. Kon"s creates a platform to a story that can portray the past and present and also fantasy and reality within the same scene. Because of this, it was often hard to detect her real life stories with the movies she acted in. Millennium actress is a story of unattainable yet unconditional love as well. Both with chioko fujiwara"s cursed love for the fugitive painter and genya tachibana"s subtle protective love for chioko. Chioko does not meet the love she has been chasing throughout her youth, the story ends with personal resolution. Chioko crosses into the next world to seek her true love with the key that tachbana has returned, blasting off in a spaceship somewhere between reality and fantasy. Her final remarks conclude that she will keep looking for her loves because it is the chase that she really loves.
