The just war theory is categorically important within international relations as it acts as a set of guidelines for the justification of beginning a war, justice within a war and justice after a war. Although the just war theory is increasingly important, it can be seen to be becoming more and more irrelevant. This can be said in regards to the united states of iraq where not all aspects of the just war theory were met. It has been argued that the us acted in a statist matter in this situation. In regards to drone warfare, the just war theory comes into play in regards to jus in bello justice within war. It can be said that the use of drones is unfair within the just war tradition as the proportionality of means is disproportionate. Additionally, the non-combatant immunity is threatened as often, civilians are harmed through the use of drone bombings.
