Had no memory of it = organic amnesia from pcp. Served in a psychiatric hospital was thought to be schizophrenic. Had knack for gardening so made the gardens around the hospital pretty. Eventually put on probation and given weekend passes. Going down a hill, avoided badly driven car and had head on collision with the road. Suffered severe head injury, that lead to severe neurological problems: left sided weakness and numbness, seizures, severe frontal lobe deficits. Starting vividly remembering the murder of his girl as hallucinations (hypermnesis) With loss of frontal-lobe integrity an essential prerequisite for repression had been lost. Eegs with special electrodes showed in addition to seizures there was an incessant seething a deep epilepsy in both temporal lobes extending down into the uncus, amygdala, limbic structures [ emotional security that lies deep to the temporal lobes] Time, natural healing, superior pre-traumatic function, aided by a lurianic therapy for frontal lobe substitution allowed recovery.
