The media is focused on making men look powerful, and women as never pretty enough. Women have lower confidence, cogitative functioning, gpas etc because of their body image. The focus on their bodies distracts them from becoming leaders and making a difference. Women have a different way of thinking, they need to have a seat at the table. With no women in politics, girls don"t see that they can aspire to that themselves. Women encouraged to not talk about their higher education so that they are not seen as a threat. Most movies are stories about men revolving around men"s lives and then the select few movies about women revolve around them finding men. Socializing boys into believing that being a man should be powerful. Patriarchal system, values women as child barrers, when they can"t bear children anymore they"re not important anymore. Only young women make it on tv, when they"re 40 they need to go away.
