Document Summary

Many movies today invoke several types of thought experiments on their audiences. A thought experiment is a device of the imagine used to investigate the reasoning of our choice. These experiments are used to study moral psychology. These experiments allow how information is processed through the human mind when people are facing taboo scenarios without them facing the consequences. A thought experiment was conducted at carleton university that asked 130 carleton. University students to make an ethical decision based on the following two scenarios. The first scenario involves a train that is about to run over five people. The second scenario involves a doctor who has 5 patients that may die without an organ transplant. A person comes in with no friends or family, needing medical treatment for a sprained wrist. These two responses that yield the same effect would result in very different responses.
