They see that dying languages are symbols of social injusice and reduce the lourishing of society. This has evolved the seing of the linguists work environment from academic to applied, as they are now more involved with communiies, helping them document their languages. Preservaion involves something that is accessed in the present and represented in a way that we anicipate will be useful in the future, but valued above all for its associaion with the past . Language loss signiies the loss of culture due to globalizaion. To adequately understand a language"s vocabulary, you must spend ime in the region, with the people. Due to migraion, modernizaion and immobility, it may be unachievable to work in local ield condiions.
