Changing overt behavior based on the principles of learning, with behavior therapists working to alter maladaptive habits and change overt behaviors. Biological functioning interventions involve interventions to alter a person"s biological functioning. 15% of u. s population in a given year. Education level- higher the education level the more likely to seek help. Clinical psychologists- treat more often diagnosed disorders. Psychologists must have a phd and must be registered with an association. Counselling psychologists- focus more on adjustment issues and more minor adaptability issues. Psychiatrists- treat exclusively psychological disorders (medical doctor- can prescribe medication) Clinical social workers- protected terms because they have appropriate degrees. Psychiatric nurses- must have a specific degree as well, hospitals. Counsellors- most counsellors have great integrity and are fabulous sources for treatment, however it is not a protected term so anyone can be a counselor.
