It is not a shock that these women are missing because they are prostitutes, they put themselves in these dangerous situations (it is different when a 65 year women is missing) Media labels sex workers as victims of disease and contagion, entrapped sexual slaves, and victims of white slave trade, endangered persons, and fallen people. The sex worker as criminal deviant and dangerous. Studies of prostitution show that sex workers are associated with criminalization and deviance. They take pride in circumventing the law and avoiding arrest. The sex worker as a symbol of moral corruption: Seem as individuals who had strayed from the norms of acceptable feminity and descended into a rank world of immortality and licentiousness. Contemporary views of prostitution as immoral often reflects the view that women"s sexuality should only be expressed or available within a domesticated and reproductive relationship.
