Reliability: the ability of a measure to produce consistent results when the same entities are measured under different conditions (e. g. , body weight scale, results from a questionnaire are consistent). Not necessarily it may be reliable, but it has low validity: types: Criterion validity: if an instrument is measuring what it claims to measure (e. g. , body weight scale), compare (correlate) results from a new test with another valid questionnaire. Correlation: describes the relation between two variables. A statistical tool that lets us predict a person"s score on a dependent variable based on their score on an iv.
