Theory explains large number of indings, ies indings together w/ single explanaion, generate predicions that are testable. Belief preservaion sicks to belief contrary to evidence. Metaphysical claims untestable beyond the physical (ex. Pseudoscience seems like science but isn"t: warning signs! Ad hoc immunizing hypothesis: defends theory using loopholes. Overreliance on anecdotes: no cause/efect or representaives. Absence of connecivity: doesn"t build on prior science. Lack of peer review and self correcion. Pareidolia meaningful mages out of meaningless simuli (face on mar) Syncronicity actual coincidence has meaning: dangers of pseudoscience. Opportunity cost: invest in fake not real.
