When many powerful people view a social condition or pattern of behaviour as harmful it can be labelled as a social problem as well. Sociology the academic and scholarly discipline that engages in the systematic study of human society and social interactions. Sociological examination of social problems focuses primarily on issues that affect an entire society. Society a large number of individuals who share the same geographical territory and are subjected to the same political authority and dominant cultural expectations. Public perception of what constitutes as a social problem can stay the same or change. Over the last 35 years unemployment and economy have been the main social problems for canadians.
