Sociological examination of social problems focuses primarily on issues that affect an entire society. Society a large number of individuals who share the same geographical territory and are subjected to the same political authority and dominant cultural expectations. Public perception of what constitutes as a social problem can stay the same or change. Over the last 35 years unemployment and economy have been the main social problems for canadians.
