What organized interests do: an overview. Scholzman  What is especially striking in the policy process of organized interests is simply how much  organized interests do.  There are specializations, and although various kind of groups differ in the activities they indicate  consume the most time and resource + a remarkable among different kinds or organisations with  respect of their political activities.  A large number of newly arrived organizations (new­born previously apolitical) = more interest­ group activities  + all groups, even previously active ones are doing more.  Consequence: more organisation = each doing more and explosion in the amount of organized  interest in Washington.  What shape an organisation decision?  ­ The involvement in particular political matter But sometimes interests group take political initiative on their own, and try to shape the political  agenda.  But, they are limited in term of numbers of numbers of substantive demands
