Perceiving persons: social perception: the process by which people come to understand one another, observation: the elements of social perception. Adults with baby face featured are seen more favorable than adults with mature features. Infantile features are associated with helplessness: people also have the tendency to overgeneralize in making snap judgments, (happy = trustworthy, angry = untrustworthy, situations: the scripts of life. Scripts: situations (the more experience one has in a given situation, the more detailed the script) People derive meaning from their observations by dividing into discrete units and the way we divide the stream of behaviors differently and the manner they do is important. Mind perception: the process by which people attribute humanlike mental states to various animate and inanimate objects, including other people. Studies show that people who identify someone"s actions in high-level rather than low-level terms are also more likely to attribute humanizing thoughts, feelings, intentions, consciousness, and other states of mind to that actor.
