Time often goes unrecognizable unconsciously: evolution change overtime, natural selection improvement overtime. Linear constructions that dominate our conception of time has implications for where we view ourselves in social and natural environments. Progressive/static view dates back at least to aristotle. Great chain of being god humans everything else: entirely static, no movement higher or that there were stages. Evolution said that these species were not fixed but could change overtime. Overproduction, variation, and inheritance: overproduce making more than what is necessary to simply just replace, variation within and btwn species nothing is identical. Inherited passed from parent to child: all of these are the basics for species change overtime, each generation that possess a variation that puts them at an advantage is. Production of better organisms inherited by their offspring. Well suited animals (according to natural selection) are result of differential reproductive success in ancestral populations: good design is the outcome of natural selection.
