A common theme that most author like to include in their stories, as one of the personality traits for their characters, is rebellious. This could be obviously potrayed in both a positive and a negative light. Positive, when affirmative outcomes are enforced or the hero or and the heroine is shown to stand up against something evil. Similarly, negative, when the hero or the heroine is displayed in the wicked spotlight and given destructive character traits. The three work of literature that i have reviewed in english this semester are like water for chocolate by laura. Esquivel, tho r-a tale of azgard, the movie by director kenneth branagh and sita"s ramayana by samhita arni. These three compositions follows a theme of rebel in common, where a message such as - to follow one"s heart, sometimes one has to create a bend in the rod- to given to their respective audience.
