Walt disney created and distributed a cartoon synchronized with sound, steamboat willie this would later be known as mickey mouse. Buster keaton created a silent film that appeared before disney"s cartoon called, steamboat bill jr: steamboat willie is a cartoon parody. Disney was always parroting feature-length mainstream films (sound gave his animations a spark) Walt disney creativity form of expression and genius that builds upon the culture around us and makes it something different. A form creativity that seems strange to americans but is inescapable within japanese culture is manga. Doujinshi are copycat" comics, the artist must make contributions to the art he copies: these types of comics can take a mainstream comic and develop it differently or with a different story line. In japanese law, they are plainly derivative works". The practice is to simply take and modify the creation of others.
