Also known as the geosphere, it encompasses solid earth, including geological material; soil (lithosphere). The layer of soil is the source of nutrients for living organisms and it provide habitats. Encompasses all life on earth; plants, animals and humans. Human presence includes; economy, culture, technology, communications, structures and other activities. Holistically (the whole picture) consider the interactions within each system and the environmental systems. Weather: state of the atmosphere at a particular place and time.
