Mellow most of is life until his 30s when depression really set in. Tells story of disneyworld, didn"t want to ruin family"s fun. After staring meds- had a breakdown on the way home. Vowed to never take meds again- tried self-help books= no help. Contemplates perhaps stress from work is what triggered his depression. No sleep at night, working days= no view of a life worth living. Felt like everyone around him had it all fine, moving along and didn"t understand him. Saw multiple therapists, ended up at mental hospital looked at depression as a more biological disorder. Tried pharmaceutical medications again (a lot)- felt dependent on them though- some worked, some didn"t- vows to get clean but then can"t afford to rock the emotional boat. Became confused by the drug side effects vs depression itself, felt hostile and isolated, some relieved anxiety, some helped sleep.
