Early childhood experiences influence coping skills, resistance to health problems and overall health and well-being for the rest of one"s life. There"s two aspects to this: (1) development in early childhood has impacts on health (2) early childhood development provides a platform for adult health through education, income, status, employment and lifestyle - which are linked to adult health. Life outside the family is one factor known to impact children during the early years: Sufficient income, adequate food, good nutrition, healthy environment, parenting, housing and educational early childhood programs all have an effect on a child"s well being and health. Non-toxic environments, good parenting, good nutrition - affect child directly. High quality ecec has positive impacts on children. Ecec describes inclusive and integrated services that play multiple roles for children and families. Care and education are inseparable concepts - the goal is to provide this to all children and all parents regardless of employment/ socioeconomic status.
