Theory of planned behavior: people"s aitudes and subjecive norms inluence their decisions. Self-determinaion: decision is based on the belief that exercise will saisfy one"s psychosocial needs. How people learn behaviours, which came from classical condiioning. Classical condiioning: non-relexive behavior can be elicited through repeated pairings of the behavior with an antecedent cue. Instrumental condiioning: voluntary behavior can be learned by pairing the behavior with consequent reinforcement. Consequences have a greater impact on behavior than antecedents. Enjoyable/pleasant outcome that makes a person feel good and strengthens behavior. Intrinsic reinforcers: rewards that come from within the self (feeling good about body) Extrinsic reinforcers: rewards that come from other people (praise: need to be careful, think of it as chore, won"t do it unless reinforcement, prevents intrinsic. Unpleasant that are withdrawn ater a behavior, increases the behavior.
