PET RADIOPHARMACEUTICALS AND IMAGES
Some commonly used PET radiopharmaceuticals along with their clinical applications
were introduced in an earlier section. Here, we will look at some examples of PET and
PET/CT images from the application of particular radiopharmaceuticals.
[18F]FDG is used primarily for the study of glucose metabolism and therefore has
applications in neurology (brain), cardiology (heart), oncology (tumours/cancer) and
infection/inflammation.
Below are some example images of a patient that has been diagnosed with a cancer called
Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.
