What got elvis presley to the national stage was his good looks, sex appeal, and an electrifying performance style. Audiences had immediate reaction to his gyrations, leg shakes, and lip curls (many critics considered aggressive and dangerous in their overt sexuality) His performance drew heavily on the music of black performers; and a powerful sexual presence. Elvis" biggest media stage was provided by the radio his performance on the grand ole. Once elvis left sun recording and went with rca and parker, he became tremendously successful (moving from region to national success). His first appearance after he went to the rca was on a show called stage show hosted by tommy and jimmy dorsey. This show had poor ratings and at first very little people saw his performance, but his performance brought national attention. In the following week, his fame rose rapidly and his song heartbreak hotel became #1 in the pop chart.
