Personality psychology address the psychological triad which is how people feel, think and behave. Inconsistencies between feelings, thoughts and behaviours are not simple nor easy in understanding self. Most people think of psychologists as clinical psychologists. But both fields serve to study the individual holistically instead of discretely. Personality psychology is the smallest subfield but also the largest because it is closely tied to clinical psychology which is the largest subfield of psychology. Personality is a(cid:374) i(cid:374)di(cid:448)idual"s patter(cid:374)s of thought, e(cid:373)otio(cid:374) a(cid:374)d (cid:271)eha(cid:448)iour (cid:449)ith psy(cid:272)hologi(cid:272)al mechanisms. The goal of personality psychology is to take information from other subfields of psychology and integrate them to obtain a holistic view of the individual. Trying to understand everything about one person at once is overwhelming. Therefore, need to adopt a basic approach which looks at one limited aspect of the individual at a time. Social learning theory attempts to inference about logistics of mental processes.
