Phenomenology: focus on interior, experiential, and existential aspects of personality. Construal: forms the basis of how we live our life, including te goals we pursue and the obstacles and opportunities we perceive; we see things the way we are. Thrown-ness: time, place and circumstances into which we happen to be born. Optimistic toughness: face angst directly, face own morality, and the apparent meaninglessness or life, and to seek purpose for your existence despite the unpleasant sounding experiences. Bad faith: ignoring existential issues; this has 3 problems. Immoral and amounts to selling your soul for comfort; life is given up when refusing to examine the substance and meaning of your experiences: surrounding yourself with material comforts still does not make you happy. It is impossible to not make a choice because still making a choice ignoring the existential issues; no exit from existential dilemma.
