The first observation i have is the origins of fundamentalism, which apparently has sectarian roots. Today though, fundamentalism is most often associated with religious organizations who take the literal sense of their texts to be most authoritative. It is intriguing how fundamentalism had secular roots but is so often associated with christianity and islam. It is very interesting how the three abrahamic faiths, who share such similarities within their beliefs also have the same problems and conflicts within. Their believers argue over the interpretation methods of scripture and whether or not to take scripture at its literal meaning. For example, political attitudes of jews and muslims in regard to gentiles and the infidel society. The way in which believers of those faiths interact with outsiders is very reliant on the i(cid:374)di(cid:448)idual"s per(cid:272)eptio(cid:374) of s(cid:272)ripture i(cid:374) regards to deali(cid:374)g (cid:449)ith alie(cid:374)s.
