These beings are part of a moral order that includes human beings. Healers must be able to influence these beings. Healer often undertakes sacrifices on behalf of the patient to satisfy a disgruntled spirit. In terms of illness and healing views differ from one culture to another. Illness and healing are framed/understood in what we might term as theological, mythological or moral context. Intro and theories of diseases and types of healers. All traditional cultures state that sickness and healing are closely associated with what we consider are religious, spiritual or moral ideas and themes and that healers are usually religious specialists. Illness is often associated with spiritual beings such as gods, goddesses, ancestral spirits, demons, animal spirits and spirits of locales such as rivers, mountains or forests. When humans offend them in some way they are often provoked to send illness. In the most general sense illness is frequently directly linked to morality.
