Families believe that the media, medical examiner"s office, criminal justice system, and public inquiry have not dug out the truth. Mass media reproduced different regimes of truth from 1992-2002 about the disaster. Concerning deviance and crime, newspapers over represent the poor and those most vulnerable to labelling by authorities and under represent the misconduct of the powerful. Ex: protect wrongdoing caused by corporations by placing business crime in the business section rather than the front page. Mass media raises 4 important questions: who is able to tell the truth, about what, with what consequences, and with what relation to power? .
