Criminal code: both parties must have the ability to consummate the marriage. If already married, bigamy, which is a criminal offence: both parties must give consent, both must be old enough to marry, 12 for females, 14 for males. Access to a child: the right to visit with, and be visited by, a child. It doesn"t include the right to make major decisions, but smaller decisions such as social activities and discipline during access time are included. Annulment: an order to annul a marriage dissolves the marriage as if it never was. This is different from a divorce, which although the marriage dissolves its prior existence is still recognized. Arbitration: parties to a dispute can hire a private decision maker (an arbitrator), with whom they enter a contract agreeing to be bound by the decisions of the arbitrator. Child support: support ordered for the needs of the child.
