Child development: the scieniic study of systemaic processes of change and stability in human children. Broad study of humans from concepion to death. Development is complex web of inluences, must be seen from many perspecives. Dividing life into periods is a social construcion. Social construcion: the concept about what is real based on societally percepions or assumpions. Prenatal (concepion to birth), infancy to toddlerhood(birth to 3), early childhood(3 to 6), middle childhood(6 to 11), adolescence(11 to 20) Cogniive development: patern of change in mental abiliies, such as learning, atenion, memory, language, thinking, reasoning, creaivity. Including biological and physiological paterns of change in sensory capaciies. Psychological development: patern of change in emoions, personality and social relaionships. Individual diferences: diferences among children in characterisics, inluences or development. Maturaion: unfolding of a universal, natural sequences of physical changes and behaviour paterns (walking, talking) As children grow, heredity and environment play are a bigger inluence, while maturaion is seen generally in the early years.
