Research methods- include participants activity"s such as interviews or taking tests. Research design- a over all plan for the study that would be the best test of his research idea. Research usually begins with a prediction drawn from a hypothesis. Sometimes research pits a hypothesis from one theory against that of another theory. If little or no theory exists on a topic, the researcher would start with a research question. Hypotheses and research questions offer investigators guidance as they settle on research methods and designs. Its important to learn about research strategies because first we need to be wise and critical of knowledge. We need to know the strengths and weaknesses of strategies so we can separate what is dependable information from misleading information. Secondly people who work directly with children and often get involved with research, ether on their own or in partnership with experienced investigators. So a understanding of the research process is essential.
