That"s when we use nonparametric staisics (also called distribuion-free staisics: nonparametric staisics don"t follow the same rules but are just as valuable, also allow data that comes in frequencies to be analyzed. The chi-squared test is a nonparametric procedure used to test hypotheses about the proporion of cases that fall into various categories, as in a coningency table. Allows you to determine if what you observe in a distribuion of frequencies is what you would expect to occur by chance. Studying the efect of planned nursing instrucion on paients" compliance with a medicaion regiment. Experimental group instructed by nurses implemening new instrucional approach. Control group cared for by nurses using usual mode of instrucion.
