Category of sounds our vocal apparatus produces. These categories are influenced by elements of our vocal tract, including our lips, teeth, tongue placement, vibration of the vocal cords, opening and closing of our throat, and other physical manipulations of our throat and mouth. Put the phonemes together and create morphemes. Morphemes convey information about semantics meaning derived from words and sentences. Most of our morphemes are words, such as dog and happy. Bound morphemes- have meaning , you have to attach them to another word. Once you put them to a end or beginning of another word, things change.
