Lower part of parietal lobe responds to faces. Jerry lettvin proposed grandmother cell: each neuron store single memory. But other neuron may chime in too, we can only record small number of neurons at a time and therefore can"t determine what the rest of brain is doing. Motion perception is fundamental and help navigating and interacting with environment. There is a region in brain possess neurons solely devoted to motion information processing. Located along pathway leading to parietal lobes (region v5) Respond to direction and speed of motion. Rare but possible: activity of single neuron can predict overall perception of motion.
