Historically, many npos have often felt that they"ve been in operation to serve the people that the for-profits have failed . As a result, many npos were firm critics of the corporate sector. This is no longer the only prevailing view. The change has been brought about by a series of pressures . Forces of globalization have increased economic pressures domestically and this has lead npos and corporations to realize they need to work together to: Mitigate the fallouts of corporate failures (canada has lost of number of global head offices and the unemployment that results is not easily mitigated) New technology has lead citizens to have higher expectations for how npos and corporations work together to solve social issues. Social activists, environmentalists and the aboriginal community are all demanding corporations to improve their community engagement. Npos have lots of knowledge to share in this area.
