Scieniic evidence: 18th and 19th century scienists explained things in mechanisic terms in terms of cause- and-efect, the scieniic method is tesing ideas under controlled condiions before acceping them as true. Experimental evidence: start with a hypothesis (statement phrased in way that can be tests, one way to control the efect of other factors in a study is to use a control group. Half of subjects comprise experimental group geing treatment. Placebo no efect on variable being tested. Blind experiment subject blind to whether they are receiving placebo or treatment.
