Titles of the IT Department
Chief Information Officer (CIO)
Is the principal Manager of the IT department. He report to the CEO
or COO
Also known as: Vice-president/ Director of Info syst
Director of computer services
1) Chief technology officer (CTO)
Is often the head of the technology group — Sorts through ideas and
products to identify which are most relevant to company.
Requires deep knowledge of info technology and the ability to
envision how IT will affect org over time
Departments consist of a technology office that investigates new
information systems technology and determines how it can benefit
company

2) Operations
Manages the computing infrastructure, including individual
computers, computer centers, networks and communications media.
— Monitor user experience and respond to user concerns

Manages projects that acquire new info system as well as maintains
existing ones. The size and structure of this group depends on whether
programs are developed in-house or not.

4) Outsourcing Relations
Group exists in org that have negotiated outsourcing agreements.
These relationships require constant attention therefore they monitor
service level
5) Data administration
Protects data and information assets by establish standards and
managements practices and policies.

systems and the management of these systems. The blueprint should provide
an overview that helps people in the organization better understand current
investments in technology and plan for changes
