BUS 272 Chapter Notes - Chapter 5: Truevisions, Transformational Leadership
Document Summary
If we were to compare charney"s leadership style to that of transformational leadership, we can see that charney went wrong in all four aspects. First off, when looking at idealized influence , we see that charney never had any sort of true visions. The decisions he made were poor judgements which ultimately lead the company to nowhere. As for inspirational motivation , he ends up discouraging his employees by driving them away and defaming them, showing how much he truly cares for his team members. Then, if we look at intellectual stimulation , we see that charney didn"t promote any sort of problem solving skills whatsoever. Instead of confronting his problems with his team, he made the irrational choice of worsening the situation by getting rid of key jobs. This led to the entire work load piling on himself, thus resulting in a burnout.
