employee!behavior:!drives!&!needs!!
o Drives:!(primary!needs)!are!hardwired,!innate!characteristics,!that!help!maintain!
balance!by!producing!emotions!which!make!us!react!on!our!environment!!
o Needs:$are!produced!by!our!emotions.!Needs!are!motivational!forces!of!
emotions!channelled!towards!a!goal!that!corrects!the!imbalance,!the!emotions!
that!we!become!aware!of!
!!Individual!Differences!in!Needs!!
< People!have!the!same!drives!but!our!experiences,!self!concept,!social!norms!affect!how!
intense/subdued!those!drives!&!emotions!translate!into!needs!!
o Ex.!Sociable!people!feel!a!stronger!need!to!be!w/!someone!when!they’re!alone,!
vs.!non<sociable!people!don’t!have!a!stronger!need!to!be!with!someone!!
