Harnold lasswell : who says what to whom in what channel with what effect? : the strength of the model is its simplicity, works will for engineers and technicians, but not researchers, social scientists and others concerned with the social nature of communication, critics argue that while it helps to identify the elements of the complex process of communication, it is much too simplistic, successful communication is always contingent on the sender and receiver and/or subject of communication.
