Brutal and violent crimes are not usually committed by people who are mentally ill, and the mentally ill do not usually commit such crimes. Mental illness- disorder of the mind that is judged by experts to interfere substantially with a person"s ability to cope with life on a daily basis. Intellectual disability- cognitive deficiency that can"t be cured. Mental disorder- need not to imply a person is sick to be pitied. Person with these disorders are not crime prone . Even if an individual with these disorders commit a crime they can still be held responsible. Schizophrenia- characterized by disturbances in cognition, emotional responses, and behaviour. Begin early in life, leads to social and economic impairment. Delusions, hallucinations, disorganized thinking and grossly disorganized or abnormal motor behaviour. Violent crimes commit by people with schizophrenia is small but when they do commit crimes is more violent.
