Methods of psychology are meant to answer two basic questions: what do people do? (psychologists answer this by observing and measuring) why do they do it? (psychologists answer this by looking for relationships between the things they measure) 1)complexity: the human brain is very complicated, 500 million interconnected neurons that help the brain give rise to the thoughts, feelings, and actions that a(cid:396)e ps(cid:455)(cid:272)holog(cid:455)"s (cid:272)o(cid:396)e (cid:272)o(cid:374)(cid:272)e(cid:396)(cid:374)s. 2)variability: people are varied as their fingerprints & no two individuals ever so, say, think, or feel exactly the same thing under exactly the same circumstances. 3)reactivity: people often think, feel, and act one way when they are being observed and a different when they are not.
