A person"s brain is more extensively activated when viewing photographs they took themselves than photographs taken by others. Took pictures of 40 specified campus locations over 10 days. Both types of photos activated many same brain structures in fmri. Medial temporal lobe (mtl)- associated w/episodic memory. Prefrontal cortex: associated with processing info about the self.
