Ecosystems consist of living things in a particular area interacting with the nonliving components of their environment. E. g. of ecosystems: tropical forests, grasslands, deserts, coral reefs, meadows. Within a particular ecosystem, we have a community. A biological community consists of all the organisms that inhabit a particular ecosystem. A species is a group whose members can only reproduce with other members of the group. Within a particular community, we have a population. A population consists of all the individuals of a species living within a specified area. Reduction is when you zoom in from a higher level of biological organization to a lower level of biological organization. (e. g. cells organelles)
