Neoliberal ideology: market mechanisms lead to providing the best service and prosperity for business/ngos, people are responsible for their own wellbeing, lead to increased inequality. Prediction 1: access to conventional forms of sport/recreation/physical activity will continue to be highly unequal: due to neoliberalism, social concerns will still be answered with consumer-driven resonses. Prediction 3: alternative forms of leisure/physical activity will be adopted as a creative response to problems of access: opposition to values associated with mainstream hypercompetitive/overly structured/adult-controlled sport, ex. Parkour: however, these alternative subcultures are fairly homogenous in terms of demographic and can reflect exclusionary practices of broader society.
