Document Summary

In fact, learning is a change in how an organism does something or thinks based on experiences during their existence. Learning is not something that is unique to humans; animals, insects, and some believe even plants, can learn. One way in which organisms learn is through conditioning. Conditioning involves the learning process in that conditioning allows associations to be created between what is happening and the surrounding environment. Classical conditioning is one well known form of conditioning that was first explained by ivan pavlov who stumbled upon the idea when studying the salivation habits of dogs. This form of conditioning is also sometimes referred to as pavlovian conditioning. Basically, classical conditioning is a form of learning in which a once neutral stimulus gains the ability to produce a response in an organism that was at first caused only by something else.
