Criminal organization: 2 or more people committing an offence that has at least a 4 years sentence. 11 traits of criminal organization but only need to meet 6 to be considered a criminal organization. Organization is formed strictly to commit serious illegal acts in order to gain profit. Associated networks: held together by personal relationship among members (ex. kinship, common ethnicity- italian mafia) Entrepreneurial model: bond is less personal and determined by business interests. Specialization/division of labour each individual is assigned certain functions. Hands-on illegal activities are committed by the lowest level people in the organization (ex. associates, hangers-on, prospects, puppet club) insulate people in higher positions from law enforcement and prosecution.
