Doing the right thing: leadership - relationship between a leader and the followers who want real changes, resulting in outcomes that reflect their shared purpos es. Manager"s need both to achieve the organization"s goals. Managers and leaders are not inherently the same. Leadership requires a vision of the future and developing strategies to reach it. Planning - process of deciding what needs to be done to achieve organizational objectives (when, how and by whom it should be done) Implement and activate specific objectives - create standards, methods, procedures and policies. Vision statement - concise picture of the company"s future direction in terms of its values and purpose - used to guide and inspire. Mission - organization"s purpose and reason for existing; its long-term goals.
