In order for the accused to be allowed interim release, the crown must justify conditions of release. It is necessary for safety of public (accused is likely to commit another offense) It is necessary to maintain confidence in the administration of justice (determined on basis of seriousness of offense as well as potential for lengthy term of imprisonment) Persons charged with a criminal offense who are waiting for bail determination. Persons who have been formally denied bail.
